POKER TABLE

A friend of mine got me into poker. You win one game and you're in basically. Free money. I realized that it was a great excuse to have people over and gave the night an objective. I liked this very much since I have a 400 square foot studio, there's not much I can do in the way of entertaining. I decided to build a poker table. This was an awesome project. I enjoyed making it and it takes the poker nights to whole new level. I also created custom poker chips which add to the texture of the experience. There are similarities between poker and directing; decision making is probably the most significant, but also reading people. Much in the way a director reads an actor's performance, you have to read a player at the poker table. I also painted a "Saloon" sign to hang on the back wall.
